ステートメント Statement (English description below)

私は幼少の頃より、身の回りにあるもの、目にしたもの、意識の中にあるものを
『描く』という行為によって把握してきました。『描く』ことによって記録し、学び、
思考を可視化し、それらを表現してきました。
私がテーマの一つとして着目したのが、夜の闇と光です。絵を描き始めた頃は
いつも黒いボールペンを握り、クレヨンや色鉛筆、カラーペンを使い、そして
絵の具と出会いました。美術教育の中での「なるべく黒を使わない」という教えを
意識し、いろいろな色に触れ、混ぜ、別の色を作り出していました。そして改めて
黒に触れ、次第にこの色が持つ表現の可能性を感じるようになりました。
ある夜、たまたま民家の窓を目にした時、明暗による絵画的な要素を、生活環境や
孤独感といった個人的、社会的な要素を持ち合わせられるモチーフになると思いました。

夜の闇は、あらゆるものを包み込む。
そして、光を一層際立たせる。
その光は『生命』の痕跡。
日の光が注ぐ昼間には見えない、目立たないものを露呈させる。

私が夜の闇と光を通して見出してきたものは、何の変哲もなく見えて、実は
尊い『日常』なのではないかと思います。すべては日常の中で生じ、存在し、
感じるもの。それらをキャンバスや紙、日々の暮らしの中で排出される空箱など、
あらゆるものに投影していくのです。

Since my childhood I have tried to figure out objects which have been my surroundings,
which I have seen, which have been from my subconscious mind, by "drawing" and "painting."
With this experience I have memorized, studied and learned things, visualized my idea, and
represented them.
The combination of the darkness and lights at night is one of my art subjects.
When I began drawing I always held a black ball-pointed pen. Later I met crayons and
colored pencils, colored pens, and painting colors. Following the educational lesson to use
black as few as possible, I tried to use various colors and mixed them to create other ones.
Later I faced to black again, gradually recognized the possibility of representation which
it might have.

One night I caught a window of a house by chance. I found that windows at night would be an
object which have the contrast between light and darkness as the picturesque element and imply
social and individual factors such as living environments and sense of isolation.

The darkness of night holds everything around, emphasizes lights more.
The lights are evidences of "lives."
They expose things which we can hardly find in the daylight.

I consider that I have found ordinary but precious "daily life" from the darkness and lights at night.
Everything is happening, existing, and felt in the daily life. I try to put them on canvases, paper,
empty product packages from our daily life, and represent as my artworks.
